On Sunday, November 3, more than twenty Corbins Electric employees and their families (including virtual walkers) joined Mothers Against Drunk Driving for their signature annual fundraiser, Walk Like MADD, to bring awareness and raise funds to bring an end to drunk and drugged driving. These preventable crimes take the lives of more than ten thousand people each year and drunk driving remains the leading cause of death on our roads.
In the weeks leading up to the walk, Jennifer Thompson and Heather Blahak held internal bake sales while Justin Martin, Corbins Electric President, and CEO, offered a dollar-for-dollar-match. Team Corbins Electric was ranked the top fundraiser team raising $5,653.00, surpassing the original goal of $4,000.00 by 141%. For Jennifer Thompson, having her coworkers supporting a cause that is close to her heart shows the true spirit of community that Corbins fosters, “It’s all about family, it’s a family coming together. This is your work family, [and sometimes] you spend more time at work and with your coworkers than you do your own family. For everyone to come together for such a great cause means the world to me”.
